Once upon a time, I lived in Alabama. It was a pastoral existence: trees, chickens, a vegetable garden. Sometimes I long for those days!
Years ago (more than I can count) I graduated from college with a degree in music education, worked as a public school teacher in Birmingham— then my husband and I found our way to Tennessee. Two children, a stint at the University of Tennessee, and several years of working in Oak Ridge followed.
A favorite experience was singing in the Knoxville Choral Society and Knoxville Chamber Chorale directed by Dr. Eric Thorson. Highlights of that tenure included a tour of Eastern Europe (oh, how lovely Vienna was!) and singing in Carnegie Hall.
Nowadays, I spend my time caring for my person with Parkinson’s, singing in the Parish Choir at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, reading with my book club, and hiking with the Ascension Trekkers when I can. Oh, why aren’t there more hours in every day? There is always an endless list of obligatory tasks and pastimes that I would love to pursue!
Oh, by the way: I enjoy following my favorite teams: Atlanta Braves Baseball, Alabama Football, and Lady Vols Basketball/Softball. You might find me sometime at Thompson-Boling Arena!
